Installing NodeJS on Linux
1. Goto the terminal window and type:
(centos)
wget http://nodejs.tchol.org/repocfg/el/nodejs-stable-release.noarch.rpm yum localinstall --nogpgcheck nodejs-stable-release.noarch.rpm yum install nodejs-compat-symlinks npm
(ubuntu)
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties sudo apt-add-repository ppa:chris-lea/node.js sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nodejs npm
2. Install Express
npm install -g express
3. Install Dependencies
npm install -d
4. Create an App and goto the app Folder
express /projects/NameOfProject && cd /projects/NameOfProjects
5. run app
node app.js
6. make application run forever install forever
npm install -g forever
7. run app
forever start simple-server.js
8. stop app
forever stop 0
